I want to like this more, but its got a lot of shortcomings. It feels like someone rushed it to market and cut a lot of corners. Its too bad because its a good start.
Pros:
-Nice having the rudiments easily accessible, with recorded examples and tempo options
-The metronome is pretty user-friendly and intuitive
-Having grooves to play to/against is a nice idea
Cons:
-The drum sounds are really cheeseball, like an 80s casio toy
-When you increase the tempo of a groove or rudiment, the pitch of the recorded sounds increases too
-When you put your iPod Touch in sleep mode to turn off the display (saving battery) while playing to the metronome or exercises, the metronome becomes erratic and the exercises trail off and stop.
-There arent many grooves (for Afro-Cuban there is only one example)
-Often there arent recorded examples, just a metronome option (eg., the Independence and Breaks exercises)
-You cant change the sound of the metronome (eg. to a cowbell)
